In The News / Current Events 2012

WE WISH ALL OUR BRAVE SERVICE MEN AND WOMEN A VERY HAPPY AND SAFE NEW YEAR.

WE WISH YOU GOD SPEED AND SAFE AND QUICK RETURN HOME.

£5 Billion Navy Jets Can’t Use Our New Aircraft Carriers.

A leaked report has revealed:

  • The £5 Billion fighter jets Britain has ordered for our new aircraft carriers CANNOT LAND on them.
  • The same aircraft cannot FIRE THE MISSILES we want either.

The Navy’s 50 Joint Strike Fighter jets ordered from the US defence contractor Lockheed Martin at a cost of £5 Billion has a landing hook designed to catch a wire on the ship’s deck to stop the jets when they land.

HOWEVER the hook is too close to the landing wheels to work.

Simulated landings have been carried out. THEY ALL FAILED.

These aircraft have now to be redesigned or scrapped.

This is yet another MOD fiasco.

BUT MOD personnel continue to receive £Multi-Million bonuses.

WHY?

Sacked Soldier Misses Pension By Just 72 Hours.

Hundreds of soldiers just short of qualifying for full pensions are being targeted for the sack.

This soldier in question in his 40’s has served his country for 17 years, 362 days before being hit by redundancy.

He must wait another 18 YEARS before drawing a smaller pension, saving the MOD £108,000.

SO MUCH FOR CAMERON’S PROMISE TO HONOUR THE MILITARY COVENANT.

MOD Penpushers Get £40 Million In Bonuses.

MOD penpushers get £40 Million in bonuses, an average of £9,000 each.

  • This while our troops fighting on the front line receive a 1% pay rise and have their pensions frozen.
  • This while our troops are axed just a few days before full pensions are due.
  • This while £5 Billion is wasted on badly designed Navy aircraft.

How many penpusher heads will roll?

ANSWER:  NOT ONE.

Australia Signs Up Axed British Navy Personnel.

Australia is signing up the best Naval personnel in the world.

While Cameron axes our Navy personnel, Australia is snapping them up as fast as they can.

MOD’s Top Brass Grace And Favour Homes Cost The Taxpayers £4.7 Million Each Year.

Military chiefs’ grace and favour homes cost us the taxpayers £4.7 Million each year.

The cost includes servants, paid utility bills and entertaining.

However the good news is that at long last there is to be a bonfire of hundreds of senior military officers from our TOP HEAVY  Armed Forces.

Over 1,000 Rear Admirals, Major Generals, Air Vice Marshals and Civil Servants are to be axed.

The big question. WHY SPEND £4.7 Million on grace and favour homes for those top staff who can afford to pay for their own accommodation?

British Troops Living In Squalor In UK.

British troops living in the Cavalry Barracks in Hounslow, West London are living in squalor.

  • No hot water.
  • Rat infested.
  • Mouldy and cramped bedrooms.
  • No sink and bath plugs.
  • Walls crumbling and riddles with holes.

These barracks were condemned 52 years ago in 1960, yet our troops waiting to go to Afghanistan are expected to live there in squalor.

Living conditions in Afghanistan are better, at least the lads can have a hot shower.

AGAIN CAMERON HAS BROKEN HIS PROMISE TO OUR TROOPS.

HE PROMISED BETTER HOUSING, WELFARE AND EQUIPMENT.

Consultants Paid £1.1 Million To Axe Britain’s Harrier Jet Fleet.

The MOD paid consultants £1.1 Million to help axe Britain’s fleet of Harrier Jump Jets and sell them to the USA.

The US Military are very happy to receive such a bargain having bought the Harrier fleet for just £110 Million and conparing them to buying a car with just 15,000 miles on the clock.

MOD £1 Million Spending Spree.

Penpushers at the MOD SQUANDERED £1 MILLION of taxpayers’ money on jewellery, eating out, cosmetics and amusement park trips JUST DAYS BEFORE 4,000 British troops were axed.

Some of this waste includes:

  • Five trips to galleries.  £7,800.
  • Music and piano stores.  £69,923.
  • Dry cleaning.  £100,393.
  • Gym equipment.  £17,395.
  • Toys and games.  £23,858.
  • Restaurant meals.  £200,574.
  • Jewellery.  £8,769.
  • Entertainment and hospitality.  £37,545.
  • Arts and crafts.  £22,898.
  • Novelty goods.  £17,355.
  • Cinema trips.  £2,004.
  • Museum exhibition.  £34,322.
  • Off-Licences.  £2,233.
  • Amusement park.  £1,050.
  • Anniversary dinner. £33,910.
  • Tourist attractions.  £9,215.
  • Bars and clubs.  £48,057.
  • Kids clothes. £1,757.
  • Bowling trips.  £1,260.
  • Cosmetics.  £6,012.

The MOD said that this expenditure is NECESSARY.

WHY?

Army’s Coffin On Wheels.

The Army’s Vector troop carrier has been described as a coffin on wheels.

The Vector has little or no underfloor protection against IEDs.

The Mastiff armoured vehicle is far better, so why still use the useless Vector?

Commons Defence Committee Raises Questions On Care For British Troops.

MPs on the powerful Defence Committee have raised serious concerns over the future care of British troops returning from service with severe injuries and mental health problems.

The Committee pointed out that there is a lack of support for families and children of those personnel killed or wounded.

The MOD promised to look at these points.

Where have we heard this before?

The time for action is NOW.  NO MORE WORDS.

Young British Soldier Fought Taliban In Flip Flops.

Young 23 year old British soldier, Liam Smith, broken by the horrors of war tried to march out to confront the Taliban while wearing flip flops and armed only with a can of Febreze air freshener.

Liam was so scarred by his first tour in Afghanistan where his patrol was ambushed and two of his comrades were killed.

Liam was sent back for another tour so scarred that he didn’t seem to care what happened to him.

Liam was sent back yet again for a third tour on the front line and just fell apart.

British Troops Continue To Be Killed In Afghanistan.

The death toll of British troops killed in Afghanistan has now risen to 395.

Hero Para Faces Court Martial For Stopping Escaping Taliban POW.

A Paratrooper with an unblemished service record is being hauled through the military courts for punching a Taliban member who was trying to escape.

The case is going ahead even though the Afghan captive has refused to make a complaint and there are no other witnesses to the incident.

The case threatens to plunge British Armed Forces into a new row over political correctness and has cost the taxpayers £250,000 already.

This hero soldier puts his life on the line every day fighting the Taliban, yet when he tries to stop an escaping Taliban POW by punching him, the PC brigade descend on him like a ton of bricks.

This hero risks his name being left in tatters and the decision is an abuse of our fighting troops.

The Officer, no doubt sitting at a desk in safety, who made the decision to Court Martial the soldier needs to be severely reprimanded.

The morale of our troops must not suffer because of some idiotic jobsworth.

Forces’ Families Move To Radiation Contaminated Base.

Families from Waterbeach Barracks in Cambridgeshire will be moving to land in Scotland that has been contaminated by radiation.

This move MUST be halted even though the MOD said the site at Kinloss “IS SAFE”.

An MOD spokesperson said “There is no appreciable risk to personnel and their families”.

Who is this spokesman??  Let us have his/her name.

Defence Cuts Grotesque Say MPs.

A scathing report produced by the Commons Defence Committee has questioned whether the redundancy terms offered to axed British troops were fair or appropriate.

Penpushers were offered voluntary redundancy, but British troops had no such offer.

Nor was there any offer of retraining made to our troops.

The terms offered to civil servants were far more generous than those made to troops.

In the meantime London allowances have been withdrawn from our troops but NOT from the penpushers.

Ex Soldier Sent To Jail To Help Him Survive Cold.

A 45 year old homeless ex soldier has been sent to jail for making nuisance 999 calls.

Cambridge Magistrates sent the ex soldier to jail to help him get over the worst that winter weather had to offer.

This case is a terrible indictment on Cameron and the British Government’s care for our ex servicemen and women.

Polish Squatters Occupy Army Homes.

Two Polish building workers have occupied an Army house and are living there as squatters.

We feel sure that our lads could make sure these scrounging Poles are evicted ASAP.

Boy Soldier Sent Home From Battle Front.

Adam Wilkie was just 17 when he joined the Army so that he could fight the Taliban in Afghanistan.

He hid his age when he joined his comrades on patrol in Helmand Province.

Adam is a big young man, so it is not surprising that his CO did not detect his true age.

Well done Adam. It is young people like you who are an inspiration to all youngsters.

Serve well and be safe.

Britain’s Five Top Military Officers’ £600,000 Domestic Servants.

British troops are being sacked.

Veteran’s pensions are frozen.

Military London allowances to be axed.

Military equipment suffers major cutbacks.

BUT:

MILITARY TOP BRASS ARE STILL LIVING HIGH ON THE HOG.

YES:

The top military officers continue to live their lavish lifestyles spending £600,000 on domestic servants.

  • GENERAL SIR JOCK STIRRUP:  Received £128,000 for 4 servants PLUS £20,000 for housing, maintenance, gardening and entertaining.
  • VICE CHIEF OF DEFENCE NICHOLAS HOUGHTON: Received £51,000 for a servant PLUS £24,000 for entertainment.
  • ADMIRAL SIR JONATHON BAND Received £161,000 for four domestic staff PLUS £21,000 for entertainment.
  • AIR MARSHALLS GLEN TORPY and STEPHEN DALTON: Received £97,000 for four servants PLUS £56,000 for the rest.
  • GENERALS RICHARD DANNATT and DAVID RICHARDS: Received £161,000 for four staff PLUS £108,000 for accommodation PLUS £2,800 for entertainment.

Not only is this lavish lifestyle an insult to our troops who still live in slum like barracks, but it is an insult to our poor who must scrape to make ends meet.

British Troop Death Toll Continues To Rise.

Another British Serviceman, this time from the RAF Regiment has been killed while on foot patrol  in Afghanistan.

The total number of British troops killed in Afghanistan has now reached 398.

MOD Paid £300 Million To Consultants.

The MOD has squandered nearly £300 Million on consultants while front line troops face the axe and the rest a pay freeze.

This money was supposed to be spent on weapons, vehicles and armour needed by British Forces in Afghanistan.

WELL DONE CAMERON, BACK STABBER IN CHIEF.
