CRIME DEFINITIONS

Crime Definitions

  • Murder in the first degree.
  • Murder in the second degree.
  • Manslaughter in the first degree.
  • Manslaughter in the second degree.
  • Robbery with violence.
  • Assault with violence.

Typical Jail Terms.

  • Life without parole.
  • 25 years to life.
  • 15 to 25 years.
  • 9 to 15 years.
  • Sentences to run consecutively NOT concurrently.
  • Non violent crimes should attract jail time as appropriate.
  • The prime reason a violent criminal should be jailed is to take that person off the streets so as not to harm another victim.

Question.

  • Should the death penalty be reintroduced for murder?
  • DNA and sophisticate forensic scientific evidence analysis can now offer a 100% guarantee of guilt or innocence.

Juvenile Crime.

  • Juveniles should be subjected to jail time for violent crime in separate juvenile prisons.
  • Parents/Guardians should be responsible for juveniles.
  • Parents/Guardians should be liable for their child's actions and be made to pay compensation and full restitution to their child's victims.
  • Causing Death While Driving. (bold or underlined)
  • The law should be changed from causing death by dangerous driving/careless driving to "Causing death while driving".
    • Example: A drugged/drunken driver kills an innocent pedestrian or other driver should face a manslaughter charge and face a prison term of 15 years to life.
    • The average punishment for causing death by dangerous driving is 3 years jail.

Self Defence

It is our belief that:

"Every law abiding citizen should have the automatic right to defend themselves, their families and their property by any means available without fear of prosecution and/or being sued by the criminal".
