During the years 2008 and 2009 crimes of all kinds have risen by over 105%.
- More than 500,000 violent crimes went unsolved.
- Nearly 1,000,000 criminals committed violent acts without being caught.
- Police solved only 48% of all violent crime.
- Only 37% identified suspects appeared in court. The remaining 63% were given cautions or on-the-spot fines, most of which were not paid.
- More than 20% of murders are committed by foreign immigrants.

- Death by dangerous driving - 3 years jail.
- Rape -5 years jail.
- Violent Assault - 4 years jail.
- Murder - Indeterminate sentence with stated minimum.
- Some robbers, burglars and rapists are given cautions, which are non-custodial.
- 31,500 prisoners were released early including 6,000 violent offenders, 2,900 burglars, 1,300 drug offenders, 8 sex offenders and 738 robbers.
Violent Crime
- It is well known that this Labour Government is soft on crime.
- We believe that punishment should fit the crime and NOT pander to the human rights of the criminals.
- The human rights of the victim must come first.
- The rights of the criminal, other than that of a fair trial, should be forfeit at the commencement of his/her crime.
